Etienne Mineur: The mutation of technological imaginaries. How do the societal mutations sustain the technological innovations?

We have noticed after years of promises of less need for hardware, that we actually need physical feedback in our interfaces linked to the IT system. We need to touch, press, and feel the interface to be able to feel an actual connection to it.
If we take reading on a digital device (iPad, Kindle, etc.) as an example, we have the amazing possibility to instantly read virtual billions of books. But why lose the sensation of turning a page, the texture of the paper, and the sound of the page if they are all part of the enjoyment of reading?
Why do digital contributions have to deprive us of something full of sensations in the physical world? Can’t we save the tangible advantages in our digital and connected world?

Stéphane Hugon: The mutation of technological imaginaries. How do the societal mutations sustain the technological innovations?

The idea of the intervention is to set the recent technological innovations back in light of the social bond transformations, through the analysis of the social imaginaries. Thus we must show that the majority of successes of services, interfaces or technological objects take into account and optimize social transformations that characterize new ways of construction and expression of the identity, confidence and large contemporary societal appetitions.
Concrete examples from the Web, mobility and automobile HMI will support this hypothesis of the innovation through use.

Hervé Mischler: A Step Towards the New Standards

The new web standards of HTML5 and CSS3 are profoundly changing the way we design interfaces. Functionalities long dominated by proprietary solutions have been opened up, and have begun enriching our interfaces without us even noticing. This talk will examine how we can create the web applications of tomorrow with solutions available today.

Norbert Corsino: Mobilities

All our senses work fully on a neurophysiological level in the mobility of actions. Except in the extreme cases of predation or fear, fixation is a special case of our perceptive system. Searching for real time, digital systems make it possible to invent systems of representation that allow mobility for seeing, hearing, and touching. Such interactive, mobile, portable systems open other horizons for the body and other perspectives for the creative imagination.
Also, through this presentation, discover Soi Moi, the first art application for iPhone, born from the imagination of Nicole and Norbert Corsino.

Manuel Diaz: Attention is the new currency for brands

From Mass media to mass of medias, 21st century change its paradigm where it is not activation of the channel that counts, but that of the receiver. Funnels have become the megaphones. Brand performance is no longer exposure time or even the number of clicks. It lies in the generated attention and covers all participates which for the ecosystem and consumer awareness, the interactivity of the co-innovation commitment.
Attention marketing puts the consumer at the Center and embraces all constituent of value. A concept for a new performance, an approach of ROA, the Return On Attention. Good practice exist. And the good news it is that they are not the size of the budget, but more than one approach relevant where the digital knows marry creativity and business service performance.

Benoît Drouillat & Olivier Marcellin: New website design. New multimedia practises, innovative information design

The time when online newspapers were discussed as an equivalent variation of paper is gone. Among the most fundamental issues that emerge through the practice of online information, uses and therefore design issues.
Whether to innovate by offering new ways of writing and displaying stories, with rich-media, or to hybridize print and electronic medias, taking into account the legacy of typography in newspapers, interactive features renewed deeply the practice of information. Moreover, these electronic publications are characterized by a complex media and aesthetic legacy. It thus seems appropriate to consider the online press in an evolutionary perspective and show how the new operating scenarios are devised jointly by journalists, designers and developers.

Peter Lubbers: HTML5 Programming Fast Track

Walk in without any prior HTML5 experience and leave as an expert—that’s what the session Fast Track to HTML5 Programming is all about.
In this session, Peter Lubbers—the co-author of the Apress book Pro HTML5 Programming—will give you an action-packed introduction to the new APIs that are exposed in HTML5, using practical, real-life examples.

Remy Bourganel: Issues of identity in mobile context

Today’s social networks are born of the web culture, static. Internet/telecom convergence is now happening, and could drive alternative models.
Remy Bourganel will present some consequences and opportunities of an ’always-on’ mobile world and will present possible future for communication in mobile context.

Fred Beecher: How to Get Started with Prototyping ?

Prototyping improves the design of interactive systems in so many ways. It improves the user experience by letting designers test and fix their designs before they are released. It improves communication between team members so they can create and implement a shared vision. It lets us take risks and explore solutions we might not have otherwise considered.
Modern designers need little persuasion about the value of prototyping, so this talk will focus on how to do it. There is no one right way to prototype, but designers need to understand their options to prototype effectively. This talk will cover the three purposes of prototyping, multidimensional fidelity, how to choose a prototyping tool, and how to integrate prototyping into an existing design & development process.

Michael Chaize: Design mutiscreen applications with the Adobe Flash Platform

The Adobe Flash Platform is today considered as an unique solution to create, prototype and develop rich applications that need to be deployed on the internet, on Smartphones or on the desktops of final users. Michaël CHAIZE will showcase the workflow between designers and developers of RIAs. All the new Adobe Tools will be covered : Flash Catalyst and the interactive design, Flash CS5 to develop engaging animations, and Flash Builder for Flex developments. He will also provide an update on the future of Flash on mobiles.

Shigeru INATOMI: Design of global web sites for companies

The conference will start with internet and web characteristics and trends in Japan, including SNS (Social Network Service) and mobile phones. Shigeru Inatomi will present the results of a survey about use of web among 600 students.
He will talk about business websites quality in Japan and will discuss the design of global websites for big companies (globalization vs localization). The presentation will finally discuss the best way for the webdesigners of filling the cultural gaps.

FRANCK CONFINO: The institutional buzz: advice and feedback on experiences

Surprise, revelation, mystery, Franck Confino came to the Wif to give a conference on Buzz mechanic. Highly specialized in the field of Public Sphere, he explained the restrictions specific to institutions and gave an overview of techniques based on continued objectives. In the second part of his conference, he took quick case studies such as Aisne, Lorraine, Gironde, Limousin…and gave us the secrets of L’Auwwwergne de la tentation’s campaign.

Jean Noel PORTUGAL: Web Economic Models : one equation in n-unknowns

How to define a strategic plan in such a complex and mobile environment ? Can we develop an ecosystem conducive to success? Economic models on the Internet are all shrubs in a forest of paradoxes: 30 billion dollars worth of advertising unevenly shared, 7 billion websites, create value in a culture of free, a transition to experience that goes faster than thought, an ambiguous relationship from production to distribution and consumption, a truth of impermanence ...
